What is FBA - Full Bust Adjustment ?
A Full Bust Adjustment, or FBA, is a sewing pattern alteration that gives extra room in the bust area of a garment — without changing the overall fit at the shoulders, neckline, or back.
It’s especially useful when you have a larger cup size than what the pattern is drafted for (most patterns are designed for a B cup by default). What happen then?
The garment pulls at the chest
You notice fit issues like gaping buttons, flattened bust darts, or side seams pulling forward.
 
Instead of simply sizing up the whole garment (which can throw off the fit elsewhere), an FBA lets you add bust room only where it’s needed, while keeping the shape and structure of the rest of the piece.
